Paper Airplane Project: Designing a Controlled Experiment

Due today: Did you write a good scientific question to test your prototype paper airplane, a research summary, and list your sources in a bibliography?

Today:
Title IAN p.51 with your question.
Write your hypothesis (use correct format).
Identify your independent variable that you will change to optimize your chances for success.
Identify the dependent variable and the control (the plane with no variable) in your experiment.

Write step by step directions for how to make your plane, the modifications, and how to fly the plane.  Explain how to collect the data, what to measure, how to measure, and what to record in the data table.  Be sure that you tell the reader how many times to repeat each trial.

On IAN p.52 you'll need to record observations of the flight.  Explain what's working and what's not working.

On IAN p.53, Diagram (draw and label) the modifications you make and make an organized data table.

Set up your graph on IAN p.54
