Paper Airplanes Project

This week you are performing a scientific investigation to demonstrate your ability to use scientific methods and engineering practices appropriately.

Your question to investigate must be a good scientific question related to making your paper airplane stay aloft longer.

Read and attach the project introduction on p. 47 in your IANotebook.
Write your question.
Then log in to Google Classroom to take off on your research.

Remember to document your sources and take notes on the major ideas related to flight and paper airplanes.

Dune Restoration reflection

On Friday, we started our germination of native plants and controlled experiments.

Please reflect about this on the bottom of your lab sheet using 2-3 sentences about:

  • what you learned
  • what made the activity worthwhile
  • and how this work impacts your view of the local environment

Pseudoscience?

After turning in your lab titled, Drops on a Penny, you were introduced to the idea of ....
Controlled Experiments!

We will trade and grade your homework from last night. It was double-sided with I'm in Control on one side and Homework and the Brain on the other side.

We will be reviewing the two activities so far and adding to our vocabulary on IAN p.27.

Then, go to google classroom.

Mystery Tubes

Due Today: Your Hypothesis

Today we are thinking like scientists by making observations, forming hypotheses, testing ideas, and making models to clarify our thinking.

On the right sides of your IAN on p. 27 add color to the definitions you write down.
Set up p. 26 in your notebook to record your observations and ideas about the Mystery Tubes!
